Platform Description

More than just a text generation tool, Notion AI is deeply integrated as an intelligent work assistant throughout the Notion workspace. Users can instantly invoke a variety of AI capabilities within their workflow, including document creation, summarization, translation, Q&A, idea brainstorming, database management, and more, without having to switch platforms. Notion AI can optionally use high-performance large-scale language models (LLMs), including GPT-4.1 and Claude Sonnet/Opus, to ensure that the quality of responses and contextual understanding are fit for purpose. Notably, it enables contextual Q&A by referencing existing documents in the Notion workspace, and advanced features such as automatically extracting action items after taking meeting minutes or summarizing and analyzing information contained in PDF documents and images. These features are delivered through a user-friendly interface (UI), including "AI blocks" and a "Ask AI" option after highlighting a sentence, and unlike typical generative AI tools, the experience is fully integrated with the user's existing workflow. As a result, Notion AI dramatically reduces the time spent generating and organizing various pieces of information and takes the collaborative and record-centric work environment to the next level.

  • Notion AI is included as standard on the Business or Enterprise plan for workspaces.
    If a new user is on a Free or Plus plan, they will need to upgrade their plan to use Notion AI.
  • - Existing users (Free/Plus + AI Add-on subscription): Existing features are available as long as you maintain your subscription - New users cannot purchase the AI add-on and must be on a Business or higher plan
