PDP Poised for Revival Amid Challenges

The chairman of the Adamawa State Ward Congress Committee of the People's Democratic Party (PDP), Barrister Timothy Kataps, has assured Nigerians that the party is set to rise again despite current challenges.

Kataps, who also serves as the Secretary to the Taraba State Government, expressed this assurance during an interview with journalists in Yola after overseeing the ongoing PDP ward congress in various polling units.

He attributed the party's crisis to either self-inflicted issues or external attempts to destabilize the party for selfish interests.

Kataps justified the party's decision to disqualify certain aspirants, especially those holding party offices who initially indicated their interest in contesting, citing the principle of not serving two masters simultaneously.

Regarding the election modalities, he noted that the party constitution mandates primaries by delegates when there are multiple contestants, while consensus candidates should be affirmed.

He added that the election is conducted according to party guidelines and expressed satisfaction with the orderly conduct observed at polling units, calling for unity among party members ahead of 2027.
