LG Electronics Secures Appliance Supply Deal with Century Communities
LG Electronics has entered into an exclusive supply agreement with Century Communities, a leading U.S. home builder. This deal will see LG's refrigerators, washing machines, dryers, dishwashers, and ovens installed in tens of thousands of new homes constructed by Century by 2029.
The company plans to provide customized appliances tailored to housing structures, regional characteristics, and climate conditions, led by a dedicated team under 'LG Pro Builder.' Additionally, a package of after-sales services is offered to both builders and end consumers.
The appliances integrate the AI home platform 'LG ThinQ AI' with energy-efficient products certified by the U.S. Environmental Agency. Existing appliances can be continuously upgraded with 'Think Q Up,' while 'Think Q Care' allows for proactive management of potential issues.
Century Communities is a prominent provider of residential and commercial buildings across the United States. This agreement follows a similar deal with Lennar, the second-largest builder, last year. LG Electronics is expanding its presence in the U.S. B2B home appliance market.
The results are evident, with LG's builder business sales increasing by over 70% in the first half of this year compared to the previous year. The growth is approximately 2.5 times compared to the same period in 2023.
"This achievement once again proves the excellent performance, quality, and brand reliability of LG home appliances," stated Jeong Gyu-hwang, Vice President of LG Electronics' North American region. "We will further solidify our position in the U.S. B2B home appliance market."
LG Electronics continues to perform well not only in the builder sector but also in commercial laundry appliances. After collaborating with Wash, the second-largest laundry solution company in the U.S., it also signed a supply contract with CSC Service Works, the leading laundry solution company, this year. The LG Professional, a large-capacity commercial washing machine, will be expanded to North America and Europe within this year.
