Kentucky Ranked 20th Safest State by WalletHub

Kentucky has been ranked as the 20th safest state in WalletHub's 2025 list of safest states in America. The analysis used 52 key indicators of safety across 50 states, considering factors like crime rates, economic stability, and occupational safety.

Vermont topped the list with a score of 67.22, excelling in financial and road safety. Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Maine, and Utah followed. The New England region notably has five states in the top 10.

Kentucky ranked 16th in personal and residential safety, 46th in financial safety, and 35th in road safety. It scored 4th in workplace safety and 31st in emergency preparedness. However, it ranked low in traffic fatalities, unemployment rate, and emergency fund availability.

Public safety measures, such as federal gun control, are suggested to enhance the sense of security among citizens. These steps could play a crucial role in ensuring public safety.
