ASEC and Kathryn Strachan Consulting to Host AI Workshop in Africa

The Africa Sustainable Energy Centre (ASEC), in collaboration with Kathryn Strachan Consulting, is set to host the AI for Africa Workshop, focusing on the role of artificial intelligence in accelerating sustainable development across the continent.

Scheduled for Wednesday, September 10, 2025, the free event will revolve around the theme of 'Innovation, Inclusion and Impact'. The workshop will feature speakers such as Dr. Elvis Twumasi, Director of Research and Innovation at ASEC, Kathryn Strachan, CEO of Kathryn Strachan Consulting, and Daniel Iyiola, Data Analyst at KPMG. Olamide Efosa-Austin, Director for Tech4GoodAfrica and Future Energy Leader at the World Energy Council, will moderate the event.

The AI for Africa Workshop aims to explore cases where AI is driving change across Africa, the responsible adoption of AI through policy and governance, the continent's risk of exclusion in global AI development, and what is needed for African voices to shape the agenda.

Additionally, the workshop will examine the investment landscape, its possibilities, and the requirements for building inclusive, scalable AI ecosystems across the continent. Participants will have the opportunity to learn, upskill, and prepare for the next generation of African AI leaders.
