AI Chatbots Misrepresent News 45% of the Time

A significant study conducted by 22 public service media organizations, including DW, reveals that four of the most widely used AI assistants misrepresent news content 45% of the time, irrespective of language or region. Journalists from various public service broadcasters, such as the BBC (UK) and NPR (USA), assessed the responses of four AI assistants, namely ChatGPT, Microsoft's Copilot, Google's Gemini, and Perplexity AI.
