Adobe Expands AI Content Creation Ecosystem

Adobe is expanding its artificial intelligence (AI) ecosystem for content creation. In addition to its own Generative AI model group 'Firefly', it has opened up its software to models developed by other AI companies.

Adobe announced an expanded partnership with Google and others at the 'Adobe Max 2025' conference held in Los Angeles, California on the 28th (local time).

Adobe has been working to integrate the latest models into Firefly continuously. Firefly has newly added Eleven Labs Multiringual v2 for voice generation and Topaz Bloom for image upscaling. It also offers models from various industries, including Black Forest Labs' Flux 1.1, Google's Bio 3.1 and Gemini 2.5 Flash Images (Nano Banana), Idogram 3.0, Luma AI's Ray 3, Moon Valley's Marie, OpenAI's GPT Images, Pika, Runway's Gen-4, and Alepp.

David Wardwani, president of Adobe's digital media division, emphasized the importance of selecting the best model for content production using AI models. He noted that AI's function, output quality, performance, cost, and commercial safety must be considered comprehensively. For example, the best AI model for video generation may differ from the model for editing videos, allowing users to choose a model optimized for specific tasks.

Adobe also unveiled the 'Firefly Custom Model' (private beta), a new model that allows creators to transform their models according to their own style. This model helps creators build models reflecting their styles by uploading reference images, illustrations, and sketches. These custom models are private and require producer approval for use by others. This feature will first be applied to the 'Firefly' application and the 'Firefly Board' and will be available from next month.

Shantanu Narayen, CEO of Adobe, stated that the vision of Adobe Firefly is to provide a one-stop service for creative workflows, helping creators explore ideas from planning to distribution. He emphasized that innovation, imagination, and the balance between technology and human creativity are crucial, with creativity peaking in the partnership between humans and AI.
