Meta Adopts New Tools to Accelerate AI Development
Meta's Superintelligence Labs is urging its teams to adopt new engineering tools to expedite AI development. This move underscores Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg's substantial investment in AI. Over the past year, Meta has invested heavily in attracting top researchers and reorganizing its AI operations.
Internal documents reveal that Meta's Product and Applied Research group is encouraging staff to transition from slower internal systems to mainstream platforms like Vercel. This change highlights the urgency with which Meta is acting to compete with rivals like OpenAI and Google.
Meta has paired Vercel with GitHub to provide its PAR teams with a faster way to work. Vercel, a major player in the web and AI app market, recently raised $300 million at a $9.3 billion valuation. Meta is already running 10 projects on Vercel and GitHub.
By relying on external development tools, Meta aims to overcome the limitations of its own systems. Recently, Meta launched a feature called Vibes, using an external AI image generator. This reflects Meta's efforts to accelerate its AI ambitions.
