Google’s Nano Banana AI integrated into Photoshop
Google's popular Gemini 2.5 Flash Image model, known as Nano Banana, has been integrated into Adobe Photoshop's Generative Fill feature. Users with access to Photoshop’s beta app can now create images using Nano Banana, alongside Adobe’s Firefly model.
Nano Banana joins the platform with Black Forest Labs' FLUX.1 Kontext [pro], marking a significant expansion in Adobe's AI strategy. This allows Photoshop users to utilize multiple AI models for creative projects.
Adobe continues to recommend the Firefly model for commercial-safe results, as it is designed for high-quality image production based on a licensed database.
Nano Banana and FLUX each have their strengths. Google's model is noted for its stylistic visuals, while Black Forest Labs' model excels in realistic and coherent images. Users can now quickly test these strengths within the same prompt window.
By opening up to third-party providers, Adobe aims to maintain Photoshop's position as a leading visual platform. The ease of switching between models will streamline many projects.
