Nano Banana AI Enables Image Editing on WhatsApp

Users can now edit images directly within WhatsApp chats using text prompts.

Perplexity has introduced Google's Gemini 2.5 Flash Image, known as Nano Banana, through its WhatsApp bot. This new integration allows users to edit images in WhatsApp chats using AI-powered prompts.

Aravind Srinivas, co-founder and CEO of Perplexity, announced, "Nano Banana is available on Perplexity WhatsApp bot."

Users can initiate WhatsApp chats with the Perplexity AI engine and request image edits, similar to using Google's Gemini AI directly. Once the conversation starts, users can provide prompts to achieve the desired photos.

The quality of the edited or generated images depends significantly on the specificity of the user's prompt. The clearer and more detailed the description, the better the edits and image output.

While Perplexity allows simple edits with prompts, the Nano Banana upgrade is integrated into Gemini 2.5 Flash Image, accessible via Perplexity Pro. This means users need to upgrade to a Pro subscription to fully utilize the Nano Banana model.

Perplexity is already integrated with WhatsApp, enabling users to interact with advanced AI models using straightforward chat prompts. The platform simplifies complex tasks, making them more manageable.

With this new integration, image editing is expected to become even simpler for users, who can now interact with Gemini 2.5 AI directly through WhatsApp chats.
